I should’ve mentioned (in my first post) the great resource that pushed this blog out of the planning stage and onto the Web.
On Wednesday, Debbie Weil, author of The Corporate Blogging Book, hosted a teleconference with nine other marketers from around the country. (You can read her post on her BlogWrite for CEOs. And, at least for a while, download a free copy of the transcript.)
In addition to Debbie’s expertise, the group interaction led to some interesting explorations – the “mastermind” at work. I left the session with my questions answered, things like:
- What to do with an ill-conceived post;
- Best practices for handling comments; and
- How long should blog entries be?
I was energized and ready to get started - but unfortunately, my Wednesday calendar got in the way.
So, the Marketing Acumen blog didn’t go live until Thursday.
Several of us are trying to talk Debbie into doing this again. In the meantime, you can pick up a lot of the information (and maybe some of the energy) by downloading the transcript here
Note: Don’t be misled: I’m not likely to post every day, probably more like once or twice per week. But I thought the free download was worth mentioning right away.
